Theresa Marie Devoe

It is with great sadness that the family of Theresa Marie Devoe, 69, announce her sudden and unexpected passing on Thursday, March 28th.

Born in Sydney Mines on February 8th, 1955, she was the daughter of the late James and Victoria (MacKinnon) Devoe of Florence.

She is survived by her children Theresa (Kevin) McNeil, Paul (Tanya) Ross, Mel Ross, Trevor (Lesley) Ross, Crystal (Sheldon) Devoe, loving grandchildren Brendan, Katelynn, Cherie, Paul Ryan (Haley), Jadelyn, Jeremy, Landan, Cohen, Lexton, Fox, Ben, Piper, Mila, Keilan, Locklan, Mel Jr., Jessie and great-grandchildren Kaylee, Jessa, Macie, sisters, Mary Ellen, Barbara, Debbie, Faith and Patricia (Trisha) and brothers, Tom, Charlie (Donna), Roddie, Joe, James (Julie), along with many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her brother Anthony (Tony) and sister Patricia (Pat).

To know Theresa was to love Theresa. She had a heart of gold with the most infectious smile. Her warmth and kindness could light up a room and she had an impact on so many people. Theresa valued honesty, authenticity, and loyalty. She got the most pleasure from the simple things in life. Time with family, long drives, and Lay’s plain potato chips were some of her favorites. But phone calls were at the top!!! The constant sound of a ringing phone will be forever missed by her children. Raising five incredible children on her own was her biggest accomplishment. To say she was PROUD of them would be an understatement. Conversations with Theresa always went back to her children. She was their biggest cheerleader. Theresa had an amazing sense of humor and contagious laugh. Her outrageous facial expressions and silly faces always made her grandkids smile. To be loved by Theresa was truly a blessing. To her family she leaves behind her kindness, warmth, and endless love. She will be desperately missed by those she left behind.

The family would like to thank Homecare and VON for the love and care always provided to our mom over the years.
