It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Theresa Eileen Romeo on November 8, 2025. Born in Sydney Mines, she was the beloved daughter of the late Peter and Anne (Goodwin) Romeo.
Theresa is survived by her children: Natalie (Mark), Shauna (Leo), and Michael (Joanne); and her grandchildren Drew, Justin, Noel, Elyse, Haley, Alex, and Will. She is also survived by her siblings: Ethel, Angus (Eileen), Lauretta (Ken), Stanley (Bernice), and Margie, as well as her sisters-in-law, Madonna and Eileen. Theresa leaves behind many nieces and nephews with whom she shared countless memories and deeply cherished bonds. Theresa will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Besides her parents, “Mama and Dada,” Theresa was predeceased by long-time partner Scottie Main, her brothers Frank, John, Lewis, and Peter, her sisters Pauline, Nora, Mella, and Rose, and her in-laws John D., Warren, Russell, Gerald, Jock, Bessie, and Marie,
Theresa’s home was a place of warmth and welcome. Her gentle nature and joyful spirit touched everyone who walked through her door. She never missed a chance for a good laugh, a song, or a dance.
The family extends their deepest thanks to the staff at Miners’ Memorial Manor for the unwavering care and kindness they showed Theresa throughout the years, and especially in her final days. Your compassion brought her comfort and peace. She loved you all.
A Celebration of Theresa’s Life will be held at a later date.

Though her mind may have faded, her love will forever shine brightly in our hearts.
