It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of Theresa Irene Trenholm (nee Campbell), 97, on Friday, April 11th, 2025. Theresa passed peacefully, surrounded by love and her family, at the Northside Community Guest Home.
Born in Sydney Mines, she was the daughter of the late James Hector and Annie Florence (Anderson) Campbell. She is predeceased by her sisters Dorothy Taylor, Mary White, and Jennie Coll, as well as her brothers Hector, Phillip, Jack, Steve, and Robert Campbell. And, because he held such a special place in her heart, we would also like to mention Allan ‘Seanie’ March of Sydney Mines, who spent his last few years as Theresa’s special friend and dance partner.
Celebrating their mother’s life are her loving daughters Debbie (Kenny) MacLean of Southside Boularderie and Lynn Trenholm of Dartmouth. ‘Nanny’ also leaves behind her grandchildren: Beverly MacLean (Jonathan), Jamie (Heather), Richard (Emily and Audrey) Flewwelling, and Benjamin (Hanna) Flewwelling. Theresa’s great-granddaughter, Allie MacLean, will also miss spending time with ‘Little Nanny’. She will also be missed by her sister-in-law Joyce (late Ted) and niece Susan Trenholm, as well as several other special nieces, nephews, and her many friends. Theresa loved her family with all of her heart, and she lived a life full of kindness and generosity.
By her request, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place, and a private family committal service will be held at a later date. Donations can be made to the Northside Community Guest Home Foundation to honour the wonderful care and compassion that Theresa received while she was a long-time resident at the Guest Home. Our family extends a great deal of gratitude to the staff who truly cared for her whole wellbeing while she was in their care.
