It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Father, Brother, Grandfather, Uncle, and Friend. Thomas Stephen MacLeod passed away peacefully on Friday, Apr 7, 2023, at the Northside Community Guest Home, surrounded by his two very special nieces, Belinda (Richie) MacIntyre and Tammy (Bobby) Forrest.

Tom was born on June 25, 1948, to the late Allina (Whitty) and Bart MacLeod.

Tom worked several jobs over the years. He was a cab driver for Crown Taxi up until the time of his illness. In his earlier years, Tom loved to play baseball and bowling. He loved a nice cold beer and some good music.

Tom is survived by his only daughter Crystal (Kellie), and his grandson Atlas. He is also survived by his sisters, Patricia (Bill) Penney, who was always by his side and whom he loved dearly, Yvonne Bryan, Barbara Cartwright, Cathy Carey (Dave), Ducky (Marilyn), and Laura Lee (Lloyd): Brothers Jerry (Marg), Sonny, Terry (Nessie) and brother-in-law Bernie Astephan.

Tom is also survived by his grandchildren Christopher, John, Stephanie, Breanna, and Dylan. Eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and Friends.

Besides his parents, Tom was predeceased by his former wife, the late Marie MacLeod. His very special sister Rita Astephan. Brothers Paddy & Kevin, Brothers-in-Law Fred Bryan, Raymond Carey, and Robert Cartwright. Sister-in-Law Brenda Dove, stepson John Parks, and nieces Mary and Tracey Macleod.

We would like to thank Dr. Kirkpatrick, Dr. Alexander Wawer, and Alice Rodgers, NP for your care over the years. We would also like to thank the staff of the Northside Community Guest Home for the care and compassion given to Tom. A very special thank you to Jacqueline Jardine, Joanne Dupont & Michelle Keeling. You girls always went above and beyond. You were Tom's angels. We would also like to give a very special thank you to Tom's cousin Mary Skinner for always being there for him. Tommer Loved You.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Tom’s life will be held on Friday, April 14, 2022, from 1-2 pm at J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main Street, Sydney Mines. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com
