The family is saddened to announce that Thomas Arthur Oakes passed away on July 17th, 2024, at the QEII Hospital in Halifax. Thomas gave in death as he gave in life. He was an organ donor, giving the gift of life through organ donation to many families in need around the province.
Born in Toronto on May 31st, 1971, Thomas was the son of Gerard Oakes and the late Patricia Susan (Jardine) Oakes. Besides his mother Susan, Thomas was predeceased by grandparents Thomas H. and Anastacia Oakes and Milton Jardine.
Left to mourn his passing his Father Gerard Oakes, daughter Kylie Oakes, sister Vickie Lynn Groten, and Grandmother Theresa Jardine. Along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Tom worked for many years with Kholer Windows and Doors in Debert and Kent Building Supplies Ltd Truro.
We wish to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the New Glasgow Area RCMP, EHS, and especially to the Aberdeen Hospital ER & ICU Personnel. Their unwavering support during this difficult time has been a source of comfort and strength.
Arrangements have been entrusted to JM Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. There will be No visitation. Deacon David Lewis will officiate at a private interment.
