It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Timothy C. Whitty, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Tim passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025, at the Northside General Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family, following a brief illness.

Born in Sydney Mines, Tim was the son of the late Tim Whitty and Blanche (Morgan) Whitty. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Wanda; his children, Jason and Amanda; and his cherished grandchildren, Breanna, Jayla, Brody, Delly, Aiden, Dairen, Dylan, Deven, and Dallas.

He is also survived by his siblings Gus, Percey (Kim), and Jean; and will be fondly remembered by many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Tim was predeceased by his sisters Linda, Jacqueline, Camilla, and Helen, as well as his mother-in-law, Helen Walker MacLellan.

Tim will be remembered for his kind heart, quiet strength, and the love he had for his family, who meant everything to him.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at JM Jobes Funeral Home, Main Street, Sydney Mines. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, Bras d’Or, followed by burial in the parish cemetery.
