Tracey MacMullin Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Tracey. She was surrounded by the love of her family and friends as she passed.
She was born and spent her early childhood in Malden, Massachusetts, before her family settled back in Nova Scotia. She was the daughter of the late Carmelita (Carmie) and Albert (Bert) Ivey. She missed them dearly and is now at peace with them.
Tracey worked as a pharmacy technician with Shoppers Drug Mart for many years, during which time she developed friendships that would last her lifetime. In particular, she shared a special bond with Debbie Buckles and Ida Lalanne; she cherished their time together and could always count on their support and friendship. Tracey also worked and lived in Fort McMurray, Alberta, before returning to Cape Breton, where she felt at home.
Tracey was a social butterfly. Her quick wit and humor were traits we all admired, and she will leave us with many stories and memories to share. She loved gathering with her siblings, whether it be at the Annual Ivey Boxing Day party, camping in Shenacadie, or just sharing a meal. Her two daughters and two grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved to spend time with them and would share their milestones and pictures with so much love and admiration.
She will be forever missed by her two daughters, Marisa (Michael) Tobin and Brianna MacMullin (Mike), and her two grandchildren, Wesley and Ellie Tobin. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters Ronnie Ivey (Lynn), Debbie Ivey-Miller (The Late Leonard Miller), Rick Ivey (Mary-Ellen), Stephen Ivey, and Andrea Rudderham (Shane). Marisa and Brianna’s father and Tracey’s former husband, George MacMullin, remained a constant supporter and friend in her life, and he will miss her dearly. She will also be missed by her companion, Patrick McGuigan, her nieces & nephews, and her extended family, as she shared a special bond with them and with many of her cousins.
The family would like to express its sincere gratitude to the staff at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital and the ICU unit at the Halifax Infirmary for their kindness and care during this difficult time. Visitation will be held Monday, Dec 2nd, from 1 to 3, with a memorial service to follow at 3 p.m. in J M Jobes Funeral Home 635 Main St., Sydney Mines.
