Travis Ryan Pye
It is with great sorrow and broken hearts that our family announces the sudden passing of our beloved son, father, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend, Travis Ryan Pye, age 39, on Sunday, June 2nd, 2024, at his home in Unity.
Born in Sydney Mines on November 14, 1984, he was the son of Wanda (Chisholm) Jessome and Freddy Pye.
Travis was the life of any party; with those sky-blue eyes and killer smirk; he was the biggest charmer and loved to be a jokester. Of course, we can’t forget how much of a ladies man he was. His downsides were his strong-headedness, his way or no way, never shy, and depending on the situation, he could talk his way out of anything! Give him a bottle of Pepsi pop; you would see the grateful side of Trav.
Left to mourn are his parents Wanda and Freddy, his stepmom Kim, his Siblings Freddy, Angella (Rodney), and Ashley(Liam), his beautiful children, son Logan, Alberta, daughter Alexa, and sons Dominix and Kadin, Saskatchewan, along with many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and friends.
At the age of 18, Travis left home to try the working life in Alberta. That lasted a few years, and then he decided to come home once again until he finally settled down in Saskatchewan. During these times, he worked as a bouncer on the railroad, in pipelines, and in the oil fields.
Travis had a hard battle the last few years with his health. His life changed forever in 2019 as he became a paraplegic (thank you, Mom, for taking care of him when he needed you the most). The one thing that got him through it all was that special bond he had with his baby boy Dom; you gave him strength every day until his heart just couldn’t anymore.
Travis was predeceased by his Grandparents Leonard and Eliza (Prince) Pye, Leonard and Elaine (MacDougall) Chisholm. Stepfather Ricky Jessome. Many Uncle, Aunts, and close friends.
The family would like to give a special thanks to his Unity family; they helped him so much over the years. Kathy not only were you the mother of the boys but a long-time friend. Calvin, you were always there for him when he needed someone. Can't forget Shimon, Maria, and Roman, aka Farmer.
A special thank you to The Cape Breton Boys for giving him the happiest memories and good times. And we can’t forget Fallon Rose for always listening and being his life-long friend.
No more wheelchair, Trav; enjoy those legs! You're finally coming home.
A visitation for Travis will be held on Friday, June 28th, 2024, at 4 pm, with a service directly following at 5 pm in JM Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines, with Deacon Dave Lewis officiating.
A letter to My Travis
My son who went to heaven
They say there is a reason
They say time will heal
Neither time nor reason
Will change the way I feel
Gone are the days, we used to share
In my heart, you’re always going to be there
The gates of memories will never close
I miss you more then anyone knows
Travis, I will love you and miss you everyday
Till we meet again my son
Always and forever
Rest in peace, Travis
Love From Momma Bear xo
