Wendy Lorretta Buffett

    It is with heavy hearts that we, the family of Wendy Lorretta Buffett, announce her passing on April 19, 2025, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital at the age of 71.
    Born February 4, 1954, in Alder Point, Wendy will be remembered as a loving mom, nanny, great nanny, sister, and friend. She brought so much love and laughter to all she knew and always had a kind word for everyone. 
    Left to mourn is her only child, Sherry (Marlon) Gordon, with whom she gladly shared her birthday and was a source of pride and joy. 
    Also left to mourn are her grandchildren, Cody, Amber, and Mason, as well as a great-granddaughter, Payton. Nothing made Wendy happier than spending time with them. She always had a picture of them or a story about them to share with anyone who would listen. 
    She leaves behind her brothers and sisters, Jake, Wayne (Denise), Gloria (Wayne) Musgrave, and Jean (Pat) Melvin, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 
    She was predeceased by her partner of over 20 years, Harold Cassell. They enjoyed traveling to Newfoundland to spend time with Harold’s family, who became her family, too. She also enjoyed camping with Cody and Amber or taking Mason to their favorite spot, Tim Hortons. 
    Wendy was also predeceased by her parents, Gordon and Irma, her sister, SherryLynn, a brother in infancy, Gerard, her sister-in-law Judy, with whom she spent countless hours playing crib, and her grandson, Joseph Gordon, who was born sleeping.  
    The family would like to thank Dr. Holmes, Kevin RN, the ICU staff, and Ali-J for the care and compassion shown to her and her family. A big thank you to Dr. Joan Salah for all the care over the last five years. 
   Creation has taken place. A funeral service and celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at JM Jobes Funeral Home, from 1-2:30 pm. A funeral service will follow at 2:30 pm. All who knew her are welcome to attend.
