It is with mournful hearts that we, the family of William Wallace (Wally) MacLennan, announce his sudden passing at the age of 60.
Born in North Sydney on May 6, 1965, Wally was the beloved son of Eileen (MacLeod-Nash) and the late Jesse MacLennan of Millville.
Wally was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. A proud member of the Local 56 Sheet Metal Union, he dedicated over 40 years of hard work and loyalty to Timberlake Construction. Always one to keep busy, he enjoyed spending time outdoors, working on cars with his good friend Ralph, and cherishing every moment with his family.
Wally loved his Friday night card games or darts with the boys and never missed a Sunday NASCAR race. Summer weekends found him happiest at Lakeview Treasures Campground, surrounded by his camping family and sharing laughs. Wherever Wally went, joy and laughter followed. His warmth, humour, and kind spirit will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sheila (O’Handley); his children and stepchildren: Fraser, Heather (Stephen), Ryan (Chelsea), Sophie, Emma, Sirena (Donald), and Jonathan; and his grandchildren: William, Alexander, Charlee, Darcy, Isla, and Isaac. Wally also leaves behind his faithful companion, Piper.
He will be lovingly remembered by his siblings: Jeannie (Benny), Sue, Ivy (Todd), and Jesse (Lois); and by his many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Wally was predeceased by his father, Jesse MacLennan, and his brother-in-law, Rick Stevens.
A celebration of Wally’s life will take place on Wednesday, June 11, from 6:00–9:00 PM at the Millville Community Centre.
All are welcome to join in remembering a life so beautifully lived.
