Jacqueline Marie MacLean
     Sydney Mines

It is with profound heartache and sadness that we announce the passing of Jacqueline Mac Lean, age 79, loving mother, wife, sister and friend, on March 19, 2020, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. She will be forever cherished and lovingly remembered by her family and many friends.
Jacqueline is survived by her husband Eric MacLean, her daughter Frances Collins, her brother Eric (Ricky) MacDonald, sister Christine Gracie (Johnny), and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Michael and Olive (Oakes) MacDonald and her brothers Michael, Anthony, William, Hector, and Clifford.
Jacqueline was born July 10 1940 and raised in Sydney Mines, NS, in a place called Cranberry. A place she was forever proud to call home. She often spoke with fondness of her time there.
Jacqueline and Eric married in 1959, residing in Toronto for much of the first 15 years, in Vancouver for a 4 year period in the 90's, and the remaining time in her beloved hometown of Sydney Mines.  While away, she ensured that her friends and family had somewhere to stay when they came visiting, or came looking for work in the big city. She was always at her happiest when she had visitors from home.
Jacqueline dedicated herself to the love and care of her family and to the many other children she cared for along the way.  Her daughter was the greatest recipient of that boundless love and affection.
She loved to laugh, have long talks on the phone, and spend time with her friends and family. She liked to watch the Blue Jays and even knew the names of many of the players. She treasured the time she spent camping at Black Rock and Lake Ainslie with her very dear friends.  She held a very special space in her heart for, her partners in crime, Alvina and Johnny.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Andrew Wawer, and the many wonderful health, home and pharmacy care professionals that cared for and supported her over the past 2 1/2 years.  With a very special thanks to her favourites and you know who you are!
Cremation has taken place. In the midst of the current flu pandemic, there will be no visitation.  A small private family service will be held early next week at J M Jobes Funeral Home Sydney Mines. Times to be arranged.

Words of comfort may be forwarded to her family at www.jmjobesfuneralhom.com.
