It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cory Harold Young, 32, of Florence, on Saturday June 13th, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Cory was the son of Deborah Young (Larry) and the late Ewan Gracie.
Cory was a member of local 92. He loved his family and children dearly. Cory will be remembered for his sense of humor and his loving ways and loyalty. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his girlfriend Desiree Mitchelitis and son Cory Daniel, his sons Nicholas and Marcus and his daughter Katie. He also leaves behind his brother and best friend Kenneth Young (Jessica), sisters Shaelen Young, Shannon Young (Michael), April LeBlanc (Joey) step-father Donald Hall and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his father Ewan Gracie, grandparents Kenneth and Edith Young, aunt Marilyn Young, and Abby Perfect (mother of Katie and Marcus).
Visitation for Cory Young will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2015, from 7-9 p.m. in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines. A celebration of his life will take place Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home, with Rev. Nick Philips officiating. The burial will be in Brookside Cemetery.
