It is with heavy hearts that we, the family of Gordon Thomas Cordy, age 70, announce his passing on Saturday, April 28, 2018, in Halifax.
Born in Florence on February 28, 1948, he was the son of Carlotta (Tots) Cordy and the late Gordon Thomas Cordy Sr.
Gordon served 25 years in the Canadian Armed Forces with the Military Police. After his retirement, he worked with the Corps Commissionaires at various posts on the east coast.

He was very proud of his children and their accomplishments.
He is survived by his wife of 47 ½ years, Lois, and his children Gordon Kiale (Susan), Tanya (Juan), John-Paul (Tanya), Richard Tuson (Lorraine). Also left to mourn are his grandchildren; Gordon Oliver, A.J., Diego, Miya, Jaden, Brittany and Beau, and his 4 sisters.
Besides his Dad, he was predeceased by his brother Michael, and brother Rick in infancy.

Dear Lois / Gordie's children as well as Tots and family members.
I am so sorry for your great loss. I knew Gordie since we were children (Gordie and his sister Ellen) swimming with the youth at Perch Rock. I visited him in Halifax when he had his heart by-pass years ago. We tend to think our lives will go on and then a death like this brings such sadness and the reality that we are only here for short time. I remember when Gordie would sing "Oh Lord It's Hard to Be Humble" and we would all laugh. Please take joy in knowing we will all be reunited on resurrection day and never part again. Take strength from each other and love each other. God Bless each of you as you start another chapter in your lives.

I had the absolute pleasure of working with Gord during our Military Police careers in Sydney and Halifax. Following Gord's retirement, he and I remained friends and socialized on many occasions. He loved music and dancing. He also loved to laugh.
To the family, I extend my sincerest condolences. Had I know of his passing sooner I would most certainly have attended the service. Gord was a good friend and a fine person.
