Leonard John Marsh, 68
Sydney Mines

It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of husband, father, brother, uncle, friend, Grampy and Grumpy, Leonard Marsh, age 68, on Monday, February 24, 2020, at home, where he enjoyed his life to the fullest. Nobody got past the door before the first words he said to them were, “Who’s you father or mother, and where you from?” He had the best sense of humour. He loved enjoying time at his favourite place in the country with his wife Debbie. He will surely be missed by all who knew him.
Leonard worked for Devco at the Prince Mine in Point Aconi, and also on the Great Lakes. He was a great storyteller of all his childhood friends and memories.
Leonard leaves behind to mourn his wife Debbie (Campbell) Marsh, very special sister-in-law Diane Campbell, son John (Carly) Marsh, BC, daughters Tracy Marsh (Henry), and Kim (Marsh) (Kelly) (Donald), BC, and stepson Joey (Jennifer) Strickland, Sydney Mines. He also leaves behind his sister Patsy (Clifford) Burton, brothers Donnie (Michelle) Marsh, and Richard (Isabel) Kelland, grandchildren Ethan Marsh, Logan and Connor Marsh, Liam, Hanna, and Silas (Krieger), Aleah Strickland, mother-in-law Pearl Parks and many nieces and nephews.
Leonard was predeceased by his parents Leo and Asneth Marsh, step-father William Mulley, and a brother Ronald in infancy.
Visitation for Leonard Marsh will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2010, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. A celebration of his life will take place Friday at 10 am in Holy Family Church, Sydney Mines, with Fr. Angus MacDougall officiating. A reception will be held in the parish hall, following the service. Words of comfort may be forwarded to Leonard’s family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com
