Helen Daphna Campbell
Sydney Mines

In the arms of angels, Helen Daphna Campbell left this world on Thursday, April 23, 2020. Awaiting her arrival with open arms were her two loving sons, Stephen and Donald, who predeceased her in 2015 and 2019.
Helen was born in Sydney Mines on November 13, 1936, to the late John and Daphna Muir. After attending local schools, she went on to receive her secretarial diploma from Sydney Business School. From there, she worked at Logue’s Car Dealership in North Sydney. She worked there until she married her husband Bobby Campbell on April 22, 1957. They just celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary.
Helen was kept busy over the years, raising her four boys and at long last, her only daughter. Years went by too fast, as often happens with young families.
Helen was very active in her church, Trinity Anglican. She served on Parish Council, and was a member of the ACW. She was very involved in the Liberal Association and if you were to ask her today in these trying times, she would quickly say “Great job, Justin.”
Over the years, Helen was a beautiful quilter and an avid knitter. Many of the town’s newborns sported one of her beautiful baby sweater sets. Many will remember her helpful advice when they picked up their yarns and wool at her Main St. store.
Helen is survived and will be greatly missed by her loving husband Bobby, along with her sons, John (Cindy), New Brunswick, and Ward (Lorraine), Sydney Mines, her daughter Maureen (Michael) Cordona, Ottawa, and her daughter-in-law Karen, Sydney Mines. Also surviving is her brother David (Harriet) Muir, George’s River. Also left behind are her 13 grandchildren, Christine (Mitch), Brandon (Heidi), Robin, Jonathan (Marley), Jamie (Kelly), Alyssa (Scott), Aaron (Jenna), Jordan, Kayla (Matt), David, Ryan (Terrilynn), Samantha (Aaron), and Shelly (Brandon), as well as 11 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Helen was predeceased by her brother Keith and two sons, Stephen and Donald.
The family would like to thank 3rd Floor Taigh Solas, Northside General, for the wonderful care for their wife and mother over the past three years. We will be eternally grateful for your care, compassion and kindness.
Cremation has taken place. Her funeral service will take place at a later date. Words of comfort may be forwarded to her family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com

Peacefully sleeping, resting at last,
The world’s troubles and trials are past,
In silence she suffered, the pain she bore,
Til God called her home to suffer no more.

Bobby & Family:

My heart ached today when I read Helen's Obit. Politics drew us together and I enjoyed her numerous funny stories. I envied her talents especially the beautiful quilts she made. She was such a mentally strong woman and a cancer survivor. Being a Godly Woman she loved her church family and her church. She will be remembered. I am so very sorry for your great loss.
